Huljich signs Principles for Responsible Investment
09/10/2008

Huljich Wealth Management joins other institutional investors around the world in signing the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment.  Following a review of its approach to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues within its portfolio, Huljich becomes one of the first KiwiSaver providers in New Zealand to join.

"The PRI are an excellent way for Huljich to express our commitment to responsible investment and marks another step forward in developing sound approaches to integrating ESG issues into our portfolio," said Huljich Managing Director Peter Huljich.

The Principles (http://www.unpri.org) are voluntary and aspirational, identifying a range of steps investors can take to integrate ESG issues in several areas, including investment decisions, active ownership, transparency, collaboration and gaining wider support for these practices from the financial services industry. However, the UN says that signing the principles illustrates a very real commitment to ethical investment.  As importantly, it also believes that applying the principles should lead to better long-term financial returns and closer alignment between the objectives of institutional investors and those of society at large.

All Huljich investment policies and procedures follow our SRI guidelines and Ongoing Equity Investment Process.
