Aim of the Huljich Foundation Trust.

The Huljich foundation was founded in 1995. It is a non-profit charitable Trust endowed by brothers Christopher, Paul and Michael with the sum of one million dollars.

Each year in New Zealand many children under the age of fourteen are diagnosed with very serious illnesses.

Families in such circumstances may face absences from home, separation of family members and many extra burdens.

The aim of the Trust is to provide a memorable experience for children suffering from a life threatening disease. The experience would be chosen by the child and it is envisaged that the family of the child would share in this experience to provide a memory in common.

The children will be permanent residents of New Zealand aged between five and fourteen years.

Each year many children and their families benefit from the Trust in a wide variety of ways.

Reasons why the Trust was formed.

The Huljich Family is grateful to be in a position to give something back to the community. Over the years we have supported a wide variety of causes, however, we would like now to focus on something closer to our own hearts.

As a result of personal experience, seeing our father, and the children of relatives and friends endure their own tragedies, we have come to see that one of the most satisfying things we can hope for in a short life is to share special times with those who mean the most to us.

Our family was able to get together and share the last years with our father, and the memory of these times has brought us much comfort and has also made us aware that many families lack the advantages we had in such times of family crisis.

The Trust is to enable the child concerned to share and experience a special occasion of their choice with their immediate family, one which they would otherwise be unable to afford. This is an attempt to give them some additional precious memories.
